GTA 6 Rumor: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT Payments Possible on Release Date?

There have been rumors for a while now that crypto payments will be possible in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. If that is possible, we’re curious to see how Rockstar will do everything in its power to discredit Bitcoin.

Because that is what GTA is known for, critically examining society with satire.

Fun fact: GTA 5 was released on September 17, 2013, the Bitcoin price was 94 euros back then. If you had bought 60 euros worth of Bitcoin instead of GTA 5, your investment would now be worth 32,000 euros.

Not confirmed by official channels

But let’s get straight to the point. There has been no confirmation from any party that matters that GTA 6 will have anything to do with crypto.

Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two have not made any announcements on the topic this week, and official trailers and announcements have made no mention of crypto inclusion.

Tweet talks about Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT

Yet, a pseudonymous Crypto Twitter influencer named Gordon shared yesterday that “GTA 6 will enable crypto payments,” and that “so far only Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT have been confirmed.”

The above tweet quickly went viral, with over 500,000 views at the time of writing, in just a few hours. When Twitter users asked Gordon about his sources, he jokingly replied that his uncle works there, or said that previous posts on the topic were now old.

It’s not uncommon for such rumors to circulate, especially considering the hype surrounding both GTA 6 and in fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if there was already a GTA 6 themed shitcoin in circulation. There must be some scammer out there looking to cash in on the hype and popularity of Grand Theft Auto.

But for now it remains speculation and there is no official confirmation that crypto payments will be part of GTA 6.

Catching shitcoins with your bare hands

Whether Rockstar Games will actually add cryptocurrencies to GTA 6 remains a mystery. What is certain is that Rockstar is known for its ability to integrate current themes and social trends into its games, often with a satirical undertone.

So who knows, maybe we’ll eventually get a mission where we have to track down a Bitcoin hacker or catch flying shitcoins.
