South Africa. Thirty years ago, they voted full of hope: the disillusionment of the first black voters
As 27.4 million South Africans are called to the polls this May 29 for the legislative and provincial elections, the “Mail & Guardian” met some of the first black voters to vote, in 1994, on the occasion of the country’s first democratic election. Disappointed by the ANC, many will abstain this year.
